We often hear of financial goal setting from a personal or business perspective. A figure of sorts that we’d like to achieve in wages, revenue or profit. We were personally challenged back in 2014 to take a different approach on financial goals by asking another question: What are our lifetime giving goals?
We have been involved with different charities over the years at the local and international level. Charities that we support demonstrate real outcomes, along with strong corporate governance and accountability structures, and have their focus on helping some of the world’s most vulnerable people groups. We therefore continue to partner with CityCare, Home of the Open Heart, Compassion, The A21 Campaign (ending modern day slavery) and Hands Across The Water.
In 2015, Growth Studios had the privilege of being involved with a unique fundraising opportunity for Hands Across The Water. Thanks to the generosity of many businesses and sponsors, we met our $5,000 fundraising target and Ben was able to cycle 500km over 5 days from Bangkok to Khao Lak, Thailand. Along with 46 fellow business owners from Australia we were able to collectively raise over $300,000 which will directly fund the development of new orphanages in Thailand and change the lives of hundreds of children in need.
It was an incredibly powerful time that we spent together with our fellow cyclists, and with the children and those that selflessly and tirelessly serve at the orphanages. We look forward to riding again!
Thanks to the generosity of our clients and the people we work with, we can continue to set giving goals and sow a culture generosity into all we do!
